Want to make a scary (but not too scary!) Halloween bat out of paper? It’s super easy! This origami bat is quick to fold and looks awesome hanging on walls, windows, or anywhere you need a spooky touch. Let’s get folding and give your Halloween some extra “boo!”

Start with a square piece of origami paper. I am using an 7×7 inches origami paper.

If you only have regular paper, follow these instructions on how to make a square origami paper.

Rotate the paper.

Fold across the diagonal to create a triangle. Make a neat crease.

Take the long edge of your triangle and fold down 1.5cm depending on the size you want your wings to be.

Draw two guide lines to help you get the wing shape even on both sides.

Fold the right wing down using the guide line.

Now fold the left wing down using the guide line.
