Start with a square sheet of origami paper. I am using an 7×7 inches origami sheet.

Rotate the paper into a diamond.

Fold in half, left to right.

Unfold. We just needed a crease line.

Fold in half, top to bottom.

Fold the bottom corner upward, stopping about an inch before the top edge to leave it unfolded.
